A first line of ToolTip (mouse-over) on the DriveSecurity icon in the Windows notification area displays the version number (for example, 3.0). If ToolTip (mouse-over) doesn’t show version number then you have an older version (2.X and below) that displayed on the bottom right of the main dialog:

If DriveSecurity finds an infected file, you’ll see a red entry in the list stating Infected file. DriveSecurity will automatically delete the infected file from the drive.
If DriveSecurity installs satisfactorily, it will scan the portable drive, and display a notice of infection; see “What if one of my files has a virus?” above.
Your USBtoCloud icon should be green… …and the status should say “Backup up to date” for the currently listed drive. You can also check your cloud storage provider’s site and look for your files. Your files should be inside your Cloud’s Apps/USB-to-Cloud folder
If your external drive has not been infected, you can enable Drive Security Antivirus so every file copied from your computer into the drive will be scanned for viruses and not copied (or backed up).
